Infuse has been my default answer for local video playback for a long time because it is reliable and gets out of the way. On Apple Vision Pro, though, I wanted to see what else was possible when the screen itself becomes part of the experience.
Screenlit
Screenlit stood out because it can convert 2D movies into a 3D presentation and lets you slightly curve the virtual screen. The 3D effect is not magic, but it was better than I expected, and the curved screen made a bigger difference than the spec sheet would suggest.
Skybox
Skybox is more about the theater feeling. The virtual environments, lighting controls, chair height, and screen reflections make the app feel closer to sitting in a real viewing room. If the goal is movie-night atmosphere, that matters.
What I would actually use
For dependable library playback, Infuse still has the advantage. For experimenting with what spatial video apps can feel like, Screenlit and Skybox are worth testing. The interesting part is not one perfect app; it is how quickly small interface choices change the comfort and feel of watching a movie in a headset.
