Khoa Ho's superhero illustration series caught my attention because it used a simple visual idea well: show the hero's present-day silhouette while hinting at the story that shaped them.
That kind of design works because it does not try to explain everything. It gives you just enough contrast between past and present to make the character feel larger than the costume. Batman, Superman, and the rest of these characters are interesting because the icon is tied to a backstory.
For me, this was also a good reminder that technology and art keep overlapping. Digital tools can make it easier to share work, build an audience, and experiment with style, but the idea still has to be strong. The software does not carry the piece by itself.
This remains a nice archive note because the lesson is bigger than the specific illustration series: strong visual storytelling can say a lot with very little.
